Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Level 2 Dental Assistant to join our Orthodontic practice. The ideal candidate will support our team by providing exceptional patient care, sterilization procedures, assisting with orthodontic procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where clinical skills and patient interaction are highly valued. Prior experience with orthodontics, will be considered advantageous. The position is paid and open to both experienced professionals and dental students eager to develop their skills in orthodontics.
Responsibilities
Sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies for procedures
Assist clinic staff during various orthodontic treatments
Take orthodontic records including x rays, photos, Itero scans
Provide patient education on orthodontic practices and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate patient records using orthodontic software
Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns during visits
Manage administrative tasks including tracking and pulling cases for next day appointments
Follow all safety protocols and maintain sterilization control standards in accordance with the New Brunswick Dental Society guidelines
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and knowledge of dental terminology
Experience with orthodontic software is highly desirable
Familiarity with CAD imaging technologies
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Prior experience working as a dental/orthodontic receptionist or in a clinical support role is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for specific software or procedures as needed
