We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Orthodontic Hygienist to join our dynamic team. As an Orthodontic Hygienist, your role bridges traditional hygiene expertise with specialized orthodontic clinical skills. You will work closely with our Orthodontist to implement treatment plans, manage patient progress, and educate patients (and parents!) on their orthodontic journey. Key Responsibilities: -Clinical Orthodontic Procedures: Place and remove orthodontic attachments, brackets and wires for brands such as DIBS Brackets, Angel Aligners, Invisalign , Light Force -Bonding Prep & Debonding: Prepare teeth for bracket placement (etching and bonding preparation) and assist in the removal of appliances and residual resin at the end of treatment. -Digital Diagnostics: Take high-quality digital X-rays, panoramic images, intraoral photographs, and 3D digital impressions (e.g., iTero scans) for treatment planning. -Specialized Hygiene & Education: Provide targeted oral hygiene instruction tailored to patients with braces or clear aligners to prevent decalcification and gingivitis. -Patient Progress Assessment: Monitor treatment progress at recall appointments, identify broken appliances or tracking issues, and communicate findings directly to the doctor. -Sterilization & Compliance: Maintain a sterile and organized clinical chairside area, ensuring strict adherence to all New Brunswick Dental Society rules and regulations Qualifications & Skills: -Licensure: Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing within the province. -Certifications: CPR/BLS certification required. (we will provide if nescessary) Experience: -Prior experience in an orthodontic setting is highly preferred, but we are willing to train a highly motivated hygienist -Technical Skills: Familiarity with orthodontic software (TOPS) and digital intraoral scanners is an asset. -Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a gentle clinical touch, and the ability to connect with patients of all ages—especially children and teenagers.
